About Me

My Teaching Style in 6 words

Collaborative: One of my favourite things about working in kindergarten is the relationship between the teacher and the ECE. I love collaborating with other educators, and I think collaboration is an important skill to teach our students.

Hands-On: I do believe the children learn best when they can physically be involved in an activity. It makes the learning more meaningful for them and allows them to answer the “why?”

Colourful: I am a visual learner and believe that many children learn better when colour is involved. My classroom is always a place of colour and joy!

Organized: It is easy to get overwhelmed as an educator when you have so many things to think about. For me, the key is organization and prioritization

Communication: Communication is key in any profession, but particularly as an educator when you have a whole team to work with including other educators, administrators, students and families. If communication is a priority then your classroom will run smoothly.

Engaging: Keeping my students engaged in their learning is one of my priorities because if they are not engaged, then teaching will become very difficult

During one of the last weeks of school, I asked my students what their favourite thing was about school. They wrote it down on a T-Shirt template (which I outlined after in permanent marker) and coloured the shirt as they liked.
